Sea20 Caffeine Free Energy Drink

Is there caffeine in your energy drink? Fool! Taurine? craziness! Vitamin B? Why on earth would you bother? Sea20 is a new energy drink with Inulin fiber! Why mess with with something to give you a burst of physical and mental energy when you could drink something that gives long term support your metabolism! That's right, Sea20 is an energy drink with absolutely no stimulants! After all, who wants to be stimulated? Certainly not those people who buy energy drinks, right? So on your way to dreamland drifting off at your desk, you can be glad that your metabolism is sped up as you get fired for snoring too loudly.

Sea20's philosophy is that the world really needed an energy drink with no caffeine. Also no stimulants of any sort - just organic juice, a few vitamins and inulin fiber. Sure, this has organic Agave nectar - good thing those simple sugars won't give you any sugar rush. Maybe the fiber in here with be the energy to give you the rush - the rush to the bathroom. Nothin' gets your ass in gear faster than needing to relieve the pressure in your bowels.

Also, this drink has seaweed in it. I have had lots of drinks in the past with seaweed, also called an emulsifier. Drinks like chocolate milk add it to make their drinks thicker. It is supposed to help prevent cell damage - which is something you will need after falling asleep behind the wheel from being fooled that this is an energy drink. Maybe in the ER they can wrap up your sleepy broken bones in a seaweed cast to help repair the cell damage.

The two ingredients that actually may provide some energy is Vitamin b6 ( Which really does not do anything for you, regardless if you take over of your recommended allowance) and Agave nectar - which is just another caloric sweetener (Mind you, agave is tastier, and is safer for diabetics).

Non Energy aside, this drink tastes great! The lime is a wonderful mix of organic agave nectar, ginger lime, lemon extract and a bunch of other organic stuff. The 10.5 ounce can drink was un-carbonated, and went down in about 3 chugs. If this were just an agave nectar, ginger lime and seaweed juice, it would get high marks. If you think of it like an organic yummy fruit drink instead of an energy drink it tastes just fine.

Even without harping on about the lie that this is clearly labeled an 'energy drink'. the can is still confusing. The name of the drink is pronounced Sea Two Oh, not Seoh -Energy 2 drink, or Sea 20. My guess is it is a play on H20, only with a C, but somewhere along the way their cleverness got the better of them and they ended up Sea 2 Oh. This is further driven home by a big... wave? My guess is to make this drink seem nautical. wait..... OH I GET IT! Seaweed!!
Ok, If I have to work that hard to get the connection between the name and one barely named ingredient, no one will get it.
The thing is, this drink is tasty enough that it really has a chance to succeed if they just rebrand the thing. What I would do is:
1. get rid of the can. Use a clear plastic PET bottle instead. Make it a Functional Water drink instead of an energy drink.
2. Rebrand the name. Instead of the obfuscating Sea20, try calling this SeaWater - and keep tings all clean and white.
3. add a touch of organic sea salt - call the sodium "extra potassium" - and you have a hit sea themed functional drink, with all the seaweed goodness they are selling.

Unfortunately, in this incarnation, the drink just makes no sense.
