I have been wanting to try these Warp mints out for years. They have been around a long time, since 1999 in fact. They started out with just one flavor, and have now branched out to three, including a cool unique green tea flavor that needs a review of its very own. Each mint is fueled with a potent energy formulation with guarana and caffeine for a nice little rush and a very cool tin. A Big thank you goes to kingofcaffeine.com for getting hold of these for me.
Packaging:9
The tin is one of the more cool collectible ones I have seen, with the nice pop off lid and the awesome design. This is a definite replacement for any of those Altoids containers you might have lying around holding your change and other pocket stuff. Warp mints come in either a hot red or the plain brushed aluminum, and bot are high quality printed with an easy to read and written with futuristic fonts and design choices. My only wish is that they printed how much caffeine there was per mint, rather than me have to hunt it down online.
Taste:9
The flavor is not overpowering, like an Altoid, but still does a great job freshening your breath. Both the peppermint and cinnamon flavors taste quite lovely and refreshing, without any hints of medicinal flavors or bitterness. It is even easy enough to pop 5 or 6 of these at a time in your mouth without overloading your senses. with 50 of them a tin, it is easy enough to go through an entire tin of these in a couple days. This holds true for both the peppermint and the cinnamon flavors, both quite exceptional and very easy to chomp into.
Buzz:7
There is 10mg of caffeine plus an undisclosed amount of ginseng i each little pill, which is only surprising because they are so small. There is a little calcium stearate to keep it from going bad on the shelf, they use regular sugar, natural flavors, and that's about it. While the caffeine dose is small, so are the little mints. This makes it possible to eat as many of these as you want your buzz to be. If you are looking for a replacement for your caffeinated mints that stores might not be carrying , or might just want minty fresh breath with a little pick me up, these are a great way to go.
I did find a little sugar crash after popping about 20 of them in my mouth in rapid succession. You will find this surprisingly easy to do - stop looking at me that way. Still, I got a very nice buzz from it as well, lasting a good 2-3 hours.
