While shopping in the "demented and insane foods " section (I really think my local Kroger store should have one of these, possibly sandwiched in next to the Japanese candies and the Kosher foods), you might come across these new vicious cookies, covered with crazed lunatic blob creatures in an ultra-killer box. Vicious cookies are the latest baked good that is supposed to get you very hyper while making you very fat and happy.
Strangely enough, this was not my first foray into caffeinated baked goods. That would be Buzzstrongs Caffeinated Cookies. My first experience with Vicious Cookies was at the clearance rack at my local mall Hot Topic, but if you looking for a cool gift for someone, or are just a yummy cookie fan, you can find much tastier and fresher boxes at Kingofcaffeine.com.
Packaging:9
You buy these cookies for the box - no question here. This is one of the most awesome designed containers I have ever seen - with insane demented Pac-Men ready to eat your soul. I love it!
What this box does not have is any caffeine content listing. Mind you, I think it is because they don't know it - as it is caffeine from little pieces of coffee bean, but it sure would be nice to know how much buzz you get with every serving.
I make a point of throwing away all my old packaging - as keeping hundreds of cool cans around is too OCD for me to handle. That being said, I just could not part with the awesomeness of this design. It even comes with a sticker!
Taste: 10
After opening the pack, you are greeted with the most delicious chocolatey cookies - nothing fake or preservative filled here! Vicious makes a really delicious molassess-y chewy chocolatey flavor here, blended nicely with hints of coffee and crunchy beans. I gave away four of these delights to coworkers - and felt a little mad at myself for giving them away. These are some of the best caffeinated goodies I have eaten. And like any good chewy gooey treat, you WILL need some milk or coffee to help unstick your mouth afterwards.
Buzz/Nutrition:6
This is filled with nothing but the good stuff you can find in your kitchen. Flour, Butter Brown sugar, chocolate, cocoa butter, molassess, coffee beans, vanilla and salt. Notice the lack of preservatives? How there is no high fructose corn crap or artificial garbage in here? You could make these cookies out of the ingredients in your house if you wanted to. No, It is not Healthy, but they are cookies for god's sake. Even the most organic Whole Foods pastiries can still get you fat. Just enjoy the deliciousness.
As for the buzz - well that leaves something to be desired. Just getting buzz from crunchy coffee beans is not enough to do the trick. It is just not. Which is a real shame, as I really wanted to recommend these as being buzz worthy. I ate the entire pack - all 15 bite sized pieces. I did get some secondary buzz, as the chewy gooeyness of them made me run for a big cup of coffee to help wash it down.
