Arizona Rx energy shots

There have been all sorts of shots in the market, from Goji to Yerba Mate, but so far I have yet to encounter a Green Tea based energy shot. AriZona Rx energy shots are a first, and look and taste js like the big cans, only now in travel size. While not the most potent energy shot on the counter, this is still a very decent offering by the king of RTD tea.

Taste:9
If you like the flavor of AriZona's green tea, then you will love the flavor if this stuff. Just like the packaging, the flavor is a direct port of the flavor of AriZona's tea - with the same light sweetness, the same slightly grassy honeyed flavor. Being a fan of green tea, I loved this one, although I did hear some of my friends remarking this also tasted like prune juice.

While I am not sure I would be going back to this one on flavor alone, it was a very pleasant experience. Why anyone would suffer with a nasty flavored any shot anymore is beyond me.

Buzz:7
There is a whole lot nutritionally going for AriZona RX, as it is made with no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no artificial colors. On top of that, the main ingredients are Green Tea, sugar and honey. They further sweeten up things with sucralose, which while not natural, is not nearly as bad for you as most other calorie free sweeteners out there.

In terms of energy, this has more Vitamin B than you would need for a decade of Vitamin B deficiencies. There is something like eight thousand times the RDA of vitamin B, two thousand times the daily value of B6, and so on. It also contains taurine, milk thistle, and ginseng. As for caffeine, it UN-helpfully lists the amount as 2 cups of coffee, which is completely meaningless. However, Xioxide.com lists the amount at 112mg of Caffeine, which makes for two very weak crappy cups of coffee.

I found a very mild buzz in here, about equal to a morning cup of coffee, or a double shot of espresso. This is a nice little lift, but nothing really mind blowing. I had enough energy to go the entire morning without heading to the coffeepot. There is no crash at all, but there was not that much of a buzz in here either. If you like Arizona's green tea, this is a great way to get a nice lift from it, without getting buzzed.

Packaging:8
This is a direct port of their green tea bottles and cans, not an easy task for such a tiny container. I put this next to a can of the 16oz can, and the packaging was made even more remarkable. Colors, fonts and motifs were made a bit more energetic (the background has a lightning storm now) but is just gorgeous) and holds up under close design scrutiny. everything is right with this package, except for the whole silly and misleading "2 cups of coffee" garbage. While not innovative, this is a great use of the classic energy shot package.
