Buzz Bites

The thing about caffeinated candy is that you can get your buzz on quickly and easily, without bringing on the urge to pee or burp, not to mention it is a ton easier to keep at the right temperature on the road. The problem is that usually these chews contain a smallish dose of caffeine, or they taste like chewing on a fake sugared sock flavored protein bar.

Both are thankfully NOT TRUE with Buzz Bites, by Vroom Foods. Buzz Bites nicely does the trick, giving a lovely serious caffeine dose, packaged beautifully, and does not taste all that bad in the process. Many thanks to Kingofcaffeine.com for providing me samples in both flavors, the original and mint flavors.

Taste: Original - 5 , Mint Chocolate - 6
Not that it tastes good exactly, but it does not taste as bad as it could have been. It reminds me of a Brach's candy or a store brand bagged sweet. This might be good for a craving or for the need of caffeine, but you are never going to mistake this for a Godiva Truffle or anything. Now I have tried worse - a whole hell of a lot worse, but you should not take these with the idea you are trying something that is a delicious chocolate treat either. My suggestion is to go for the mint flavor, as that masks the bitterness a bit better than the original flavor.

Buzz:10
The reason for Buzz Bites continued success is the fantastic buzz you get from each little piece of chew. Each tin contains 6 small chocolate chews, Each individually wrapped in little foil squares. Every chew contains a potent blend of caffeine, ginseng, taurine, and five B vitamins. 100 milligrams of caffeine to be exactly. If one does not have the power you are looking for, you can always chew on two.
I LOVE the buzz from this - as it is long lasting and very powerful. For a small chew, I don't think you could get much better.

Packaging:9
the only thing you could wish for is more per pack - but that would just be greedy. I love how easy this is to just slip into a pocket and go - and they don't really melt at pocket temperature either. They can get a bit sticky, but they don't lose their shape and turn into goo unless it gets realllly warm. The metal container keeps them safe and formed, and then you have an awesome tin to store your small stuff in.
It is a really nice package too, with a decent design with exceptional art. With a tin that looks this good, you might toss out all your old Altoids tins you use to hold your change and chachkas (knickknacks in Yiddish) in. It is pretty obvious they shied away from being hip or clever with marketing and stuck to basics, it is still a very well done job.
