I woke up feeling like sometime in the night, my cat came up and did something naughty in my mouth. The metaphorical bus that hit me this morning left tracks on my queasy tummy while the small shaft of sunlight coming in my window burned holes in my eyes.

Hangovers Suck.

And now that I am old, all it took was three whole beers and a shot or two of something strong with no water to drink to get me this way. But I had to do this for Science - so in the morning I could accurately reflect upon my latest sample, Hydrive R, their latest drink specially formulated to kill the hangover beast dead. I only was sent one sample, so I had to make it worth my while.

After a thorough brushing, I guzzled my new recovery drink in one go. Even with a queasy stomach, it was an easy task. It even felt like after the first sip, my body was craving the slightly salty nourishment of this elixer. the grape flavor was mild and completely refreshing. I was not oversweet or carbonated or anything else to make it harder to get down and keep down.
Actually, it was a pleasure to drink - and at the end I wanted more. While I fixed myself a recovery breakfast of Huevos Rancheros, I ruminated about how hey managed to pull off making this drink and still managed to not have it taste harsh or medicinal.

About half an hour later, I was fully recovered. Big breakfast of eggs, sipping a tea, and 145 mg caffeine, 50 mg Taurine, Ginseng, L-Arginine, L-Carnitine, and a chunk of vitamins, including B and E, acai and Aloe coursing through my veins. I was awake, getting perky, and began to come to terms with the fact that my days of knocking back a six pack or chugging Jager bombs only to bounce out of bed the next day are a thing of my past.
Or, maybe it was time to just invest in more bottles of Hydrive R.

Like all Hydrives, this is in a 16 ounce sport-like bottle with a resealable lid. Perfect if you only drank a little and wanted to save. Not like you should - dehydration is nothing you want to be messing around with. I say drink it all regardless of your level of pain. The rest of the bottle is nice enough, listing all the ingredients easily, easy to read and well designed. I like the thin elongated shape, and double facing label. While nothing super fancy, it is a job very well done.
