Hydrive A

There is something special about Hydrive. I found them in Washington DC, on a particularly hot day, and bought out every flavor I could find. since then, I have been continuously impressed with just about everything they have done. Their flavors are awesome, they always perform spectacularly, and even their chews are a real treat.
To that end, Today I am trying their latest drink, Letter A, an alertness variety flavored of kiwi-strawberry. This is also my first of their new design, ditching their old starburst logo for a newer cleaner implementation.

Nutrition/Buzz:9
Like all the Hydrives, this is a low calorie drink, coming in at 30 calories for the bottle. Also, like other Hydrives, this is a great one for a Gatorade replacement in any type of aerobic activity.
145 milligrams of caffeine, 50 milligrams of taurine, 25 milligrams of L-carnitine, 25 milligrams of L-arginine, 5 milligrams of panax ginseng, and 5 milligrams of guarana as well as all the B vitamins.

I had this on a morning I particularly needed to be awake, recovering from the night before. My only issue with this is it sadly dissipated after a few hours and left me with my pathetic fog brain, trying to code in the murk. Of course if I had more of these drinks, I probably could have kept up a steady stream of Genius development. If I had to be focused and aware, there are not many that were as great and powerful as this.

Taste:8
It tastes better than Gatorade too. This did not seem sodium flavored, and went down very very smooth. It was not overly sweet, so it would be a good light drink at the gym, but was sweet enough to be drunk about any ol' time too. This one is flavored just like the label says, like strawberries and kiwi. It even tasted almost natural. While it didn't blow me away, it did make me want to drink more of it.

Packaging:8
This is the first one I have tried with their new packaging design. They axed their old pink-floyd-esque starburst in favor of this new clean swirly logo. I guess it is cleaner, which I think is good. I mean, I could see why having a multicolored retina as your logo might make good business cards and letterheads. I really liked it better than this new design. To each his/her own.
This is still in a resealable plastic PET bottle, so it can be carried easily and disposed easily as well. This makes another great drink in an already impressive lineup.
