The founders of Jolt Gum surveyed 1,000 young consumers in 2000, they found that 80% still knew the Jolt slogan by heart. So they did what any enterprising young men would do, and licensed the name and started releasing Jolt stuff.
Their latest product, Jolt mints, are TONS better than the gum, and really quite tasty. While I would love to hear the actual caffeine count once Vroom Foods is done with them, according to the package, just five little mints have the same amount of caffeine as a whole cup of coffee. Their new slogan for the mint box, "the mint that is as good for your mind as it is for your mouth," is pretty good - as it is one of the small number of caffeinated mints that actually do have a good dose of caffeine as well as actually leave you with minty breath.

The flavor of the mint does not linger, like in Dragon Soul mints or other stronger mints. In a way, that's not so good if you want clean fresh breath that lasts. However, this also means you can easily eat 4 or 5 in a row. Or 10. or 20. It is dangerously easy to eat too many of these things, tasting more like a fresh candy than anything. You can detect the caffeine , but not a whole lot - and it is not by any means unpleasant. In fact, I would easily pick this one up before grabbing most other mints I have tried so far.
Buzz: 8
These are actually quite tasty! while not an overpowering mint, these are little tasty candies that, unlike the gum, have you feeling the effects of the caffeine almost immediately. I think part of that is because of the effect of having it dissolve on your tongue rather than having to ingest it, the same effect you get from caffeinated gum. Other than the Caffeine from guarana, the mints also contain ginseng. The mint is not overly sugary, using dextrose and sucralose to sweeten it without any overkill. While they do not list the caffeine count outright, their comparison to 5 mints=1 cup of coffee means thaqt each mint has 20mg of caffeine in energy-drink-speak. While these mints are not small ( about the size of an Altoid) it is still easy to chain chew a dozen of these without thinking about it.

In terms of most bang for your buck, Jolt mints are a fantastic deal. There are 60 mints in the package, with about 20mg each brings this total box count to 1200mg, or about 15 Red Bull-ish energy drinks. The tin itself is a marvel! Not only do you get the cool time-honored logo, it is also wrapped in a beautiful and very colorful Pink-Floyd-Wish-You-Were-Here psychedelic background, which sets off the logo and definitely looks clean and very energetic. All the logos and layout are superb, down to the cute illustration explaining how many mints equal one cup of coffee. You also get website, company info, and not a bad listing of ingredients, although coming out and stating 20mg of caffeine just to be certain would have been nice. This is one package which will probably be kept around for storage for years.

Very amusing and well put together. The UI is well done, although it would have been nice if it was easier to get to information about the products. Hiding it is a sub-navigation is not the most intuitive way to get to what you came there for. Also, they could have cleaned up their code more, not relying so heavily on dreamweaver to build their pages for them. The page loads quickly and is full of enough info about the company and the ingredients - so the code could be overlooked, but with a little work this could really be a stellar site.
